Open School Event Information

Choosing the right secondary school is an important decision, and our Open Evening is a wonderful opportunity to discover what makes Bassingbourn Village College such a special place to learn, grow and thrive.

Open Evening

Our next Open Evening event is on Thursday 17th September.

The evening is primarily aimed at pupils in Year 6 and their Parents/Carers who are considering Bassingbourn Village College for their child’s secondary education. You will have the opportunity to explore our school, meet our dedicated and enthusiastic staff, and hear directly from some of our students about their experiences.

During your visit, you will be able to explore our different subject areas and see the breadth and richness of the learning, experiences and opportunities we provide. From the classroom to our wider enrichment activities, we want every student to be encouraged to discover their strengths, develop their confidence and achieve their potential.

Our staff and students will be available throughout the evening to answer your questions and give you a real flavour of life at Bassingbourn Village College.

To help the evening run smoothly and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to see the school at its best, we ask families to book a tour time at either 5.30pm or 6.30pm. Your tour will be followed by an address from the Principal in our main hall.

Open Mornings

If you would like to experience the school during a normal working day, we are also offering two Open Morning tours:

  • Tuesday 29th September 2026 at 9.30am
  • Thursday 1st October 2026 at 9.30am

These mornings provide a further opportunity to see our students and staff in action, experience the atmosphere around the school and gain an even greater insight into what life at Bassingbourn Village College could be like for your child.

Places on the Open Mornings must be booked in advance.
