Bassingbourn Village College Welcomes a New Principal
Bassingbourn Village College has welcomed Mr Ian Stoneham as its new Principal.
Mr Stoneham joins the college with an impressive track record and following a successful tenure as Vice Principal at Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport; also part of Anglian Learning, the multi-academy trust.
On his appointment, Mr Stoneham comments “I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to lead Bassingbourn Village College in its vision to nurture individuals, to have high aspirations, a love of learning and to become responsible, respectful and resilient members of our community”.
“The school provides an enriching educational experience for our students. Working in partnership with colleagues, parents and carers and the local community, I intend to build on the college’s successes and further enhance pupils’ sense of belonging to the school”.
Mr Stoneham, who holds a Masters in Leadersship and a National Professional Qualification (NPQH), studied History and Politics at Durham University before joining the Teach First Programme, where he worked as a history teacher in East London. His career then took him to Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport starting as an Assistant Principal, before taking up the post of Vice Principal in 20xx.
