Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Bassingbourn Village College, a secondary school nestled between Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. With over 660 students from ages 11-16,  we are very proud to provide our local community with a comprehensive education for all.  

Our dedicated staff are committed in supporting our students to unlock their full potential and achieve high academic outcomes through a wide range of opportunities, both in and out of the classroom. Our personalised curriculum offers breadth and depth, with a strong core in both English and Maths, an impressive language provision which includes Latin, as well as a commitment to widen our Arts department.

Our teachers work hard to nurture our students to have high aspirations for themselves, a love for learning and to become confident, resilient, healthy and independent members of society. All of this is underpinned by our core values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility, which combined ensures, when our students leave us, not only do they go on to achieve professionally, but become considerate members of their local community.

For these reasons we truly believe we can attain our goal of being the best comprehensive school in Cambridgeshire.

We are very proud to be part of Anglian Learning, a successful multi-academy trust. With 6 secondary schools and 10 primary schools in its roster, our staff are able to share learning and curriculum resources as well as for our staff to draw on support, if ever needed.  Financial planning and a systematic approach from the Trust allows us to continue to be in a robust position for the future.
