Supporting our disadvantaged students is of paramount concern for us here at Bassingbourn Village College.

Pupil Premium is funding to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in state-funded schools in England.  This section of our website, gives an overview on how, as a school, we spend our Pupil Premium funding to support the progress and development of our pupils that we are currently receiving, or have been eligible for free school meals, those who are Looked After Children or previously Looked After Children.  In addition the document below includes the spending of the Recovery Premium funding.

At Bassingbourn Village College, we take our responsibility to support our students reach their potential very seriously and there are a raft of strategies in place in how we support this group of students.  Headed up by Jeremy Brock, Deputy Principal, we have invested support in literacy and numeracy, reduced costs for extra-curricular trips activities such as trips and visits as well as music lessons, created a loan scheme for laptops to support homework to name a few strategies.

If you believe your child is eligible for Pupil Premium and you would like to understand how school can help with the cost of trips, visits, music lessons and other activities, you are welcome to contact Jeremy Brock via jbrock@bassingbournvc.org
